DIRECTIONS to Parkdale:
From I-64 eastbound: Take Exit 276-A turning left at Little Creek, going toward Granby. After crossing the railroad tracks, turn left onto Virginian Drive. Veer left at the fork, and continue until you see the Parkdale sign, at 321 Virginian on your right.

From I-64 westbound: Take Exit 276-C turning right at Little Creek, going toward Granby. After crossing the railroad tracks, turn left onto Virginian Drive and continue until you see the Parkdale sign, at 321 Virginian on your right.

We provide care for children from one through kindergarten years. We generally adhere to the educational philosophy of developmental psychology --in the belief that children learn in predictable stages, usually grouped by age. We guide children and assist parents in many ways.

Parkdale encourages teachers to plan daily activities on a weekly basis; they monitor daily to determine if developmentally appropriate, for each child in a class. Children who exhibit weakness in an appropriate task are encouraged by direction techniques: to use centers which will provide more experience to enhance and strengthen skills.

We are open Monday through Friday from 6:15 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Our Administrator: Kathy Falkner
Ms. Falkner joined the staff in July 1988. She worked for the Virginia Department of Social Services for 20 years, thirteen of these, as a Child Care Licensing Specialist.

Meals include USDA hot lunches and sandwiches, prepared daily in our kitchen. We strive for nutritional and low-fat fare for growing young people. Our menu ensures a fresh and healthy diet and additional snacks are provided twice daily. We encourage parents to let our staff know of any special dietary concerns or considerations.
